| This
recording project is a testimony to the work of God in my life
so far and also for the hope for the rest of my life into eternity.
Having reached that wonderful milestone of a half century,
I think back over my life, analyzing it year by year. What
have I learned? Now that I've learned it, how am I going to spend the second
half of my life being God's servant and applying what He
has taught me?
Since starting my journey in McGehee, a small town in Arkansas,
God has introduced me to a wonderful host of places and individuals,
personifying the words “there is a wonder and wildness to life…”.
Along the journey, I have been privileged to serve my country around
the world and at the same time serve my God in each of those locations,
culminating here in Northern Virginia, worshipping at Immanuel
Bible Church. I hope these songs will convey to
you the joy in which God has blessed me.

The
first time I heard the title song, it spoke to my heart in a
profound way. The song encourages us to live out this life
in Christ knowing He paid a huge price for that joy. “never
stop counting the cost….remember the hopelessness when
you were lost”. He is with us each day of our journey,
shepherding and leading us along the way.
It has been an honor and an extraordinary experience to bring you
these songs on this recording as an expression of that joy.
I thank all who played a role in making it possible.
Special thanks to my wife, Waynetta and my children Lindsay,
Joshua and Andrew.
My prayer for all who listen to this music is you will encounter the
same joy I have had in knowing Jesus because there truly is “Joy
in the Journey”.
